From experience we know that most farriers are against greasing hooves, because it seals the hoof wall. Duo Hoef does not do that. Because Duo Hoef is 100% animal oil, it is absorbed directly into the hoof wall. Synthetic substances, fats and vegetable products seal the hoof wall, which makes it look nice on the outside temporarily, but which makes the hoof dry from the inside and thus increases the chance of cracks and brittle hooves. That is why Duo Hoef does not contain any additives.
Horse fat contains Glycerine and Vitamins A and D. Glycerine attracts moisture and the action of vitamins A and D results in faster growth of the horn and a better structure of the hoof. It has been irrefutably proven that Duo Hoef improves, maintains and strengthens the hooves.
