This underlay snaffle from Trust is always used in combination with a dressage bit. It is therefore a combination of 2 different bits that lie in the horse's mouth at the same time. This type of bit is mainly used in higher dressage and is only for the most experienced riders. Rings of an underlay snaffle are smaller so that there is enough space for the action of the dressage bit. A special bridle with a double cheek piece is required for a bit and snaffle. This underlay snaffle has a double-jointed mouthpiece and a round middle piece that puts pressure on the tongue. The flatter the middle piece, the sharper the bit. A double-jointed bit has the advantage that it adapts more easily to the horse's mouth than a single-jointed bit.

The bustrens:

The bustrens is a basic bit where the rings cannot move freely from the mouthpiece, which makes the rein aids work more sharply than with a snaffle bit. They are available in single-jointed, double-jointed versions or with a bar with or without a tongue arch.

The sweet iron bits from Trust:

Sweet iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates saliva production. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST bits to brown-grey. If a sweet iron bit is not used temporarily, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. This can easily be removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
