The bustrens is a standard jaw piece. The rings cannot move loosely, which means that the aid comes through more directly and the bit lies relatively still in the mouth. In addition, the bit prevents the lips from getting pinched, which means that bit rings are not necessary with this jaw piece.

The single jointed bit has one hinge point which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece works mainly on the layers, the side of the tongue and can also work on the palate. A single jointed mouthpiece is considered a standard mouthpiece.
