Trust Sweet Iron Pony Hanging Cheek Jointed 12mm | Baucher's ankle is broken

This pony baucher bit is specially developed for ponies. The hanging cheek or baucher cheekpiece is a bust snaffle variant on top of which smaller rings are attached. The cheekpiece is attached to the upper rings and the reins to the bust snaffle. This gives the bit a slight leverage effect. The hanging cheek is often used by pony riders in the higher class but can also be used to make the step from a regular snaffle to a double-jointed snaffle easier. The single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which puts less pressure on the tongue than with a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece mainly works on the bars, the side of the tongue and can also work on the palate. A single-jointed mouthpiece is seen as a standard mouthpiece.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) moisture that tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the horse's saliva production. This will cause the horse to foam more, which ensures better acceptance of the bit. This rust process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST bits to brown-gray. This is a desired effect of the Sweet Iron bits. If a Sweet Iron bit is not used temporarily, an orange-brown rust layer may form on the mouthpiece. This can easily be removed by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
